What is a fuse box? What is the role of the fuse box? Next, let's take a look at it.

Fuse box refers to the installation of fuse box (also known as fuse seat), easy to install fuse, some with waterproof, fireproof, high temperature resistance and other performance characteristics (depending on the material and shape).

Definition of fuse box

Fuse box can be divided into lead fuse box and automobile fuse box. Fuse box general injection molding materials are: plastic, nylon, Bakelite, PBT engineering plastics. Different materials have different degrees of high temperature resistance. In the process of selecting the fuse box, the current of the fuse used and the size requirements of the fuse should be taken into account. The larger the fuse current is, the larger the wire rod matching with the fuse box is. Otherwise, it will cause the fuse box and wire to heat up and cause fire.

Automobile fuse box

The car fuse box has a series of different fuses, relays and diodes to protect the circuit from overload or short circuit. The fuse box is powered directly by the battery. The wires in the fuse box are connected to the vehicle parts that need to be protected.

A fuse consists of wires that break when the current exceeds the ampere limit. Ampere limits and different color codes are usually defined on each fuse. Placing the correct fuse with the correct ampere number is essential for protection.

For example, if a fuse with a lower rated current is used, it will fuse too quickly and the connected components will not work. If the current rating of the fuse is high, the assembly may damage and fail before the fuse.

Relays are electric switches, which are common in all vehicles. For example, when we turn on a car air conditioner that uses relays, the current will pass through the solenoid. The interaction between the magnetic field and the switch element enables the relay to complete the circuit. Because relays can control multiple circuits, they are useful in controlling various automotive circuits, such as heaters and headlights.

Diodes usually have built-in relays to allow DC current to flow in one direction. It can prevent the voltage spike or flying back that may occur in the winding coil in the relay.

Blank space in the fuse box

Fuse boxes in cars usually have empty fuse sockets for future use. Even cars that are fully equipped with accessories may have empty sockets for features that manufacturers may add later. Since these sockets are not connected to any circuits, you can use them to store spare fuses. However, be careful and use the fuse box when pulling out the spare fuse.
